Posted on Wednesday, August 05, 2020 The Town of Ocean Isle Beach will reopen to the general public at 7:00 AM on Thursday, August 6, 2020. 

Short-term vacation rentals will resume on Saturday, August 8th, however all guests are encouraged to check with their realty company or individual owners regarding the availability of these properties due to storm damage.  

Public beach accesses may also be limited due to damage.  At the present time the following public beach accesses are closed:  Island Park, The Resort, Beaufort,  Isle Plaza, Shelby, Highpoint, Lumberton, Durham, Charlotte, Shallotte Blvd.  There are numerous private oceanfront homes that have received minor or extensive damage to their walkways and stairs.  

Motels can reopen on Thursday, August 6, 2020 due to being considered as an essential business and to assist in providing housing for those persons who  have been displaced from their homes or contractors in need of lodging facilities.  

The Town would like to offer their gratitude to the numerous State and Local agencies that have offered assistance to our Town during this time.  To our staff, thank you for the countless manpower hours you have provided to help in our recovery efforts.
